I work in musical theater, creating immersive, sound-centered productions that blend feminist comedy, drama, and healing. My current project, Rosario, is an exploration of my relationship with the life and work of Mexican feminist writer Rosario Castellanos, whose writing has been a guiding light and source of comfort to me for over 30 years. I draw from her poetry, novels, speeches, and even her doctoral thesis—interwoven with my own writing—to bring her voice into dialogue with my own.
The show is inspired by progressive rock, pre-Hispanic music, hypnosis, philosophy, and sociobiology. It’s not a biography—it’s a deeply personal experience that invites the audience into laughter, reflection, and transformation.
Castellanos’ fierce, funny, and fearless contributions to feminism are all but unknown in the U.S. and fading from memory in Mexico. I hope Rosario helps change that—and brings healing in the process.
